RCB and KXIP matches have produced some iconic moments in RCB’s history over the years

138 - RCB inflicted the heaviest defeat by runs in Kings XI Punjab’s IPL history. In the 2015 season, playing at the Chinnaswamy,  a Chris Gayle century propelled RCB to a score of 226 before 4-wicket hauls by the two left-arm seamers - S Aravind and Mitchell Starc - destroyed the Kings XI batting lineup, condemning them to a 138-run defeat. At the time, the win was also the biggest in RCB’s history which the team went on to better by 6 more runs in 2016 against the Gujarat Lions.

71 - The largest defeat in terms of balls to spare in KXIP’s history was also inflicted by RCB. A fiery spell of fast bowling by Umesh Yadav broke the back of KXIP batting who were dismissed for only 88. Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel made sure the chase was unblemished and knocked off the 89 runs with 71 balls still left.

204/2 - After Kings XI Punjab put up a formidable 203 runs on the board, a run-chase anchored by Jacques Kallis, and quick-fire knocks from Bangalore lads Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa took the team within sniffing distance of a victory before Virat Kohli joined Kallis to register the highest-ever run-chase in RCB’s history, a record which still stands to this day.

29 - Umesh Yadav holds the record for the most number of wickets taken against KXIP in IPL history. Playing for 3 teams - the Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Umesh Yadav has dismissed 29 KXIP batsmen.

147 - Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli’s 147-run stand in 2016 at the Chinnaswamy is the highest partnership for any wicket against KXIP in IPL history. Kohli went on to score his fourth century of the tournament, a feat that is yet to be repeated.
