Virat Kohli explains the feeling of sticking with RCB for 18 years

IPL set foot in its 18th year in 2025 and the entire tournament has gone through a massive transition ever since its inception. No matter the ebbs and flows, no matter the wax and wanes, there will always be a few absolute points in the glistening antiquity of the cash-rich league. One of them would undoubtedly be the presence of Virat Kohli for RCB.

Virat has been a part of the RCB family for 18 long years and he continues to deliver with the same pomp and vigour. In the teaser released for the latest episode of RCB Podcast, he revealed what it feels like being with a single franchise for almost 18 years.

Virat said, “In terms of desires, everything is okay, but not this (being with RCB). The but is never going to go away. So, I thought, fine, what is of more value to me today? Do I want to go to a new set-up and try to figure out life again? And I don’t know how the system is going to be, how people are going to treat me.”

He further added, “So, I felt, you know what, for me what’s more valuable is the relationship and the mutual respect that has been created over so many years. The love that I have received from the fans, I don’t think any silverware or any trophy can come close to that.”
