India Women created history as they entered their first final of the Women's T20 World Cup after their game against England was washed out. They will play the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on 8th March, also celebrated as International Women’s Day. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side have been unbeaten in the tournament so far and with the brand of cricket they’ve shown so far, they deserve to be in the final showdown of the tournament in front of the packed MCG crowd.

The Agra born leg-spinner has been a standout bowler for the Indian Women’s side in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Poonam Yadav is the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 9 wickets from 4 matches with an average of 9.89.

The leg-spinner’s fine spell against Australia Women in the opening fixture of the World Cup provided a much-needed momentum to their campaign.

Amidst the packed crowd of MCG, the Indian Women’s side will look to clinch their first ICC silverware.
