Pole position up for grabs as RCB lock horns with LSG in final group stage fixture

It is going to be the last group stage fixture for RCB as they lock horns with LSG at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. With a spot in the top two up for grabs, RCB will be hopeful of returning to winning ways which will cement their position in the first Qualifier of the tournament.

It was an unfortunate slump for the Royal Challengers in the last game, despite a solid start from Virat Kohli and Phil Salt. Their bowlers had an off day too against SRH as they were found shooting down a monumental total of 232. However, with the return of Josh Hazlewood, the Royal Challengers will be hopeful of plugging the gaps that they found in their last game.

Lucknow Super Giants, on the contrary, have been eliminated from the ongoing edition of the IPL and will be hopeful of finishing their campaign on a high. If they are able to emerge victorious in this fixture, then they might do a world of good to Gujarat Titans, PBKS and Mumbai Indians. With the kind of firepower and renewed reinforcements that both the teams will be coming in with might create an enticing contest for the viewers.

Venue Watch

The pitch in Lucknow will not be a straightforward surface to bat on. Even in RCB’s contest against SRH, the surface exhibited traces of spongy bounce. The slower deliveries will be the ones to look forward to with all sorts of confusion being on the cards. However, spinners had a tough day in office in the last game and might once again find themselves at the receiving end of the stick. One can expect this to be a full-blown run-fest.
