Suyash Sharma recalls the journey behind his transition to a bowler

One of RCB’s key performers for RCB in IPL 2025 has been Suyash Sharma. Coming on as an impact player, the young leg-spinner has actually carved quite an impressive legacy. His frugal overs in the middle have left the batters strangulated and the pressure created by him has reaped handsome dividends.

However, for the young man plying his trade in the RCB threads, it wasn’t an overnight dream that came to reality. It was a dream doused in sweat, diligence and unprecedented persistence. The young man had support from his family and riding high on that, he took on the world. In the latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries, Suyash Sharma reveals how he became a bowler.

The young leggie said, “My name is Suyash Sharma. I live in Delhi and I play for RCB. My family has always supported me in cricket whether I have played for state or not. They have always been my backbone. My mom was my teacher and my dad owned factories. I lost my father two years back, he was suffering from cancer.”

He further added, “My coach, Suresh Batra, was also Virat bhai’s coach in his childhood. He trained me for four to five years. In 2021 during Covid 19, he expired. After that, one of his friends, Kartarnath, supported me a lot and helped me in everything. When I was young, I started with batting. I started spin bowling in parks and it was naturally very good. That’s how I became a bowler.”
